Q: What is engineering company and how does it works?
A: Engineering company is a company that provides engineering services. Mecania Engineering provides engineering services for industry. There are usually several engineers and designers with various designing background and engineering education working in an engineering company. For every larger project there are a project manager assigned to manage a group of designers and to take responsibility of the project. Depending of the project and experience of the designers at some specific field of industry, one of the most experienced designers at the field may be assigned to managing the project. Depending of the project 3D-model, blueprints, wiring diagram, logic program, strength analysis or actual machine, production line or factory layout are produced as a result.
Q: What kind of services engineering company provides?
A: Mecania Engineering provides designing services in the fields of mechanical and production engineering, electrical and automation engineering and plant and processing engineering. We also provide strength analysis (FEM-analysis), project managing and consulting services. Through other affiliated companies like Mecania Automation and Mecania Control we can provide complete project deliveries including idea generation (pre designing), project management, designing (3D-modeling, blueprints, wiring diagrams, logic program etc.), part purchasing and part manufacturing through our large subcontractor database, part assembly, wiring and CE-certificate, on-site assembly, user instructions and user training.

A: Mecania Engineering is a part of a larger group of companies. We have at the moment over 70 engineers and designers with different designing background. You can easily gather a group of specialists to nearly whatever project. Most of the designers have been in several different projects and done designing in various fields of industry. A: Companies purchasing designing aid from outside may for example:- free up resources from designing activitiesDesigning costs are climbing all the time. A: There is no threat of revealing business secrets for third party companies. There is always NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) done with new clients. This contract prevents engineering company to reveal any material received from client company to third parties.
Q: Who will have rights to patent new inventions?
A: Sometimes, especially in product development projects new inventions occur. Therefore raise a question: who will have rights to patent new inventions? Mecania Engineering is concentrated to provide designing and product development services, it has no interest to patent new inventions. Agreement that defines the owner of possible new inventions can be made between the companies. Naturally agreement has to be in line with country law that describes patent rights.
Q: How "designing aid" can actually be carried out?
A: There are several ways to actually start using designing resources from outside. At first local manager and/or specialized engineer from Mecania Engineering personally visits client company and discusses carefully of the designing or product development needs. Afterwards official proposal will be send to the client. Actual work begins as soon as cooperation agreements have been signed and best possible designer or group of designers has been gathered. Designing resources can be used with different ways:- Designer works for the client while actually doing his/her work in Mecania Engineering facilities. Mecania Engineering always provides "tools" for designer (PC or laptop with required software).
- Designer works for the client in clients facilities (client provides designing tools). Positive side is that designer is very close to clients' designers and products.
- Designer works for the client in clients facilities and takes his/her designing tools provided by Mecania Engineering with him/her.
